Northwest Public Power Association July Bulletin
Healdsburg’s Climate Mobilization Strategy (CMS) was included in this month’s Bulletin by the Northwest Public Power Association for its community engagement efforts and Electric Department involvement. The CMS was adopted by Council in October 2023, and City staff are actively working on many of the high priority actions identified in the Implementation Plan Stay tuned for CMS progress updates this Fall.

We would like to congratulate Officer Joe Janowczyk on receiving the 2023 MADD Award and also recognize him for being nominated for the MADD Outstanding Officer Award.
His efforts in combating DUI driving was celebrated at the annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) recognition ceremony on Tuesday, July 16th. Officer Janowczyk’s dedication to keeping our community safe is evident in his record of over 50 DUI arrests in 2023. We would like to thank him for his dedication to protecting our community!

About the music: California native Steve Pile has sowed his musical oats from his home state to Alaska to Texas and back, with many stints in West Africa. Blending a rootsy songwriter vibe redolent of James Taylor and John Prine with African guitar stylings and a touch of the Dead, he is a mainstay in the San Francisco Bay Area music scene Besides playing his original songs, Steve has become known for orchestrating local star-studded tributes such as his annual All Things Must Pass tribute to George Harrison, bringing in musicians like Phil Lesh, Reed Mathis, Jason Crosby, Mookie Seigel and many others to reimagine the classic album.

Rainwater harvesting systems can help collect rain to be used for landscaping needs later in the year. Limited-time grant funds are currently available to provide you with rebates and expert support. Get ready for the next rainy season today, before the rebate application deadline August 31, 2024!

Construction of Healdsburg’s new Fire Station No 2 is progressing steadily at the north end of town. Ground was broken in October 2023, and the station is scheduled for completion in early 2025. Crews are currently focused on interior drywall installation and exterior site improvements, including the construction of outbuildings. This new fire station will allow for upstaffing during critical times.
